Central Coach Doug Bibby Found Not Guilty on Charge of Disorderly Conduct at LIT

Central High School head coach Doug Bibby was found not guilty today on charges of disorderly conduct stemming from an unfortunate incident during the Louisville Invitational Tournament last season.

At the time, Bibby was originally arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and suspended from coaching the remainder of the event.

Central High School boys basketball coach Doug Bibby on Friday was found not guilty on charges of disorderly conduct stemming from an incident during the Louisville Invitational Tournament in January at Valley High School.

Bibby was facing up to 90 days in jail and a $250 fine. Michael Goodwin, Bibby’s attorney, said the jury took less than 20 minutes to reach a verdict after the three-day trial in Jefferson County District Court.

“It was a resounding vindication of Coach Bibby,” Goodwin said. “He did nothing wrong.”

A separate charge of menacing was dismissed by Judge Jennifer Bryant Wilcox on Thursday, Goodwin said.
