Allen Feldhaus Says Dominique Hawkins Will Likely Miss More Time Than Expected

Madison Central head coach Allen Feldhaus believes Kentucky guard Dominique Hawkins will miss more than four weeks of basketball with a broken bone in his hand. 

Hawkins, who led Madison Central to the state championship as a high school senior, had surgery on the hand today.

Feldhaus says Hawkins will likely be out at least six weeks.

But Madison Central Coach Allen Feldhaus, Jr., said Tuesday afternoon that the estimate might be changed to six weeks.

The surgery went well, Feldhaus said he was told by Hawkins' mother, but doctors needed three screws rather than the expected two to make the repair. The Madison Central coach said that might mean Hawkins will be sidelined for a longer period of time.

Hawkins broke the bone in his right hand below the middle finger during Sunday’s practice.
