Game recap by UC:

The University of the Cumberlands Men's Basketball Patriots took to the floor on Tuesday night as they hosted the University of Rio Grande Red Storm in a non-conference matchup. A back and forth 1st half would ensue as UC held a slim 2 point advantage, 37-35, at the half. The Patriots would close the game on a 17-6 run in the last 6 minutes to take a 90-72 victory over Rio Grande. The win moves UC to 3-1 overall on the season.


•A group effort led to the win as UC's Tre Boutilier (Dartmouth, Canada) and D'Lando Carter (Danville, IL) chipped in 14 points each. Boutilier pulled down 7 rebounds while Carter had 3.
•Kaashif English (Orlando, FL), Temjae Singleton (Los Angeles, CA), and Xavier Owens (Tamps, FL) all added in 12 points each with a combined 15 rebounds.
•Kelsley Wilkinson (SW Ranches, FL) chipped in 10 points as well.
•The Red Storm was led by D.D. Joiner with 22 points.
•The Patriots shot a solid 75.8% from the free-throw line (25-33) and also went 49.2% from the field.


The Patriots will travel to Marietta, Georgia as they will compete in their first conference game of the season against Life University. Tip-off is set for 4 pm.
