Western Kentucky Comes Up Short at Belmont

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Hilltoppers led 35-27 after Nigel Snipes' jumper, but Nick Smith sank a 3-pointer and two free throws and Belmont outscored WKU 27-8 to close the first half for a 52-43 lead.

Belmont had 21 assists on 29 field goals.

Egekeze scored 7 points amid a 10-0 run for a 63-50 Belmont lead. But the Hilltoppers rallied, tying it at 74 and 76 before Belmont pulled away on an 11-4 run sparked by Bradshaw's layup.

Chris Harrison-Docks scored 19 with four 3-pointers for WKU (1-1). Fredrick Edmond had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Aaron Cosby scored 15.
