Ohio State Overpowers Kentucky in CBS Sports Classic

Ohio State started hot and held off a late Kentucky surge to upset the No. 4 Wildcats 74-67 in the CBS Sports Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Buckeyes (6-5) shot 9-for-18 (50%) from the three-point line and out-rebounded Kentucky 42-40 in the win.

Keita Bates-Diop led Ohio State with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Marc Loving added 12 points and 8 boards. JaQuan Lyle finished with 11 points.

Kentucky (9-2) was led by 33 points from freshman Jamal Murray. Murray scored 27 points and led the Wildcats back from a double-digit deficit in the second half. Marcus Lee chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds.

The Wildcats will have a week of before hosting Louisville in a much-anticipated rivalry game.

North Carolina blew by UCLA 89-76 in the first game of the CBS Sports Classic.
