Union College's Levon Harper Named AAC Player of the Week

Union College's Levon Harper was named Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College forward Levon Harper (JR/Danville, Va.) is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Harper registered his first double-double of the season in helping Union to an 85-77 win over host NCAA Division III Berea College in the team's only game last week.

Hitting 10-of-14 shots, Harper scored a season-high 21 points while grabbing a season-17 rebounds. The 17 rebounds are the most by a Bulldog this season and are tie for fourth-most by a player in AAC.

Harper also contributed two assists, one blocked shot and a steal in the eight-point win.

For the season, Harper is averaging 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

This is the first time Harper has received this honor in his career.

Union is 12-3 overall, 4-0 in conference play and ranked No. 6 in NAIA Division II. The Bulldogs return to action on Jan. 2 when they will face the Milligan College Buffaloes in league play at 4 p.m.
