Bellarmine Tops Midwest Region Rankings, Kentucky Wesleyan is No. 9

Bellarmine is No. 1 in the Division II Midwest Region ranking that have been announced by the NCAA.

Kentucky Wesleyan is No. 0.

The rankings will be used in determining the NCAA Division II Tournament field.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 24, 2016) — Kentucky Wesleyan placed No. 9 in the second weekly Division II Midwest Region men's basketball rankings, as announced by the NCAA.

Bellarmine earned the top spot followed by No. 2 Saginaw Valley, No. 3 Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 4 Ashland and No. 5 Indianapolis

The next five include No. 6 Ferris State, No. 7 Lewis, No. 8 Findlay, No. 9 KWC and No. 10 Drury.

The NCAA will announce via the internet,, the 64-team field (eight per region) on March 6, at 10:30 p.m. CT. The eight regionals will be held March 12, 13 and 15 at campus sites.

The NCAA Championship, better known as the 'Elite Eight,' will be played at Dr. Pepper Arena (4,500) in Frisco, Texas on March 23, 24 and 26.

The Panthers (23-3, 9-1 G-MAC) travel to Ohio Valley on Thursday and Salem International on Saturday to close the regular season..
