Kentucky Christian Plays Today in NCCAA MidEast Regional Tournament

Kentucky Christian will battle University of Valley Forge in the semifinals of the NCCAA Division II MidEast Regional Tournament later today. The winner will advance to tomorrow's championship game.

Boyce College fell to Piedmont International 68-65 in Thursday's quarterfinal round.

Valley Forge knocked off Crown College 91-73 to advance.

Tournament seeds:

#1 Johnson University, TN- The Royals enter the tournament with a regular season record of 13-14 and 7-1 in region play. They split their season series with the #2 seed Kentucky Christian winning 102-87 at home, and losing 83-100 on the road. They are #2 in the nation in scoring averaging 89.5 ppg., #6 in 3 point percentage 35.9%. The Royals also have two players in the top ten in the nation in scoring, #6 Kenny White with 20 ppg., and #9 Josh Grover with 19.5 ppg.

#2 Kentucky Christian University- The Knights enter with a regular season record of 11-18 and 8-3 in the region. Those 3 losses came at the hands of Johnson, UVF, and Boyce. KCU is #10 in the nation in field goal percentage 45.2%. Hayden Dunn is #3 in the nation in scoring with 23.1 ppg. and #10 in rpg. with 38.1.

#3 University of Valley Forge- The Patriots enter with a regular season record of 5-19 and are 1-0 in region play this year. They beat #2 seeded KCU 76-69 back in November. The team ranks #9 in the nation in steals per game with 8.3. Cody Collins is #9 in the nation in 3 point percentage with 43.9%. Devin Williams is the team leading scorer averaging 12.4 ppg.

#4 Piedmont International University- The Bruins enter with a regular season record of 6-19 and are 3-5 in the region. They swept their two games against Welch, and also beat Boyce. They are #7 in the nation in field goal percentage with 45.6%. Malik Miton is #5 in the nation scoring 20.9 ppg. Reggie Scippio is #7 with a 54.8% field goal percentage.

#5 Boyce College- The Bulldogs enter at 9-20 and 5-5 in the region. They split their 2 games with #2 KCU winning at home 83-77 and losing on the road 88-95. They are #7 in the nation in 3pt percentage at 35.6%.

#6 Crown College- Crown enters with only 1 win on the season. Their 1 win was a 93-53 victory over Appalachian Bible College back in January. Luke Dalton is #4 in the nation averaging 21.5 ppg.
