Kentucky Christian's Season Comes to End in NCCAA MidEast Region Semifinals

LOUISVILLE, KY- The Patriots defeated the #2 seeded Knights of Kentucky Christian University 82-73 on Friday to advance to the NCCAA DII Mid-East Region Championship. They will face the winner of #1 seeded Johnson University and #4 seeded Piedmont International tomorrow at 3pm.

At the half, the Patriots actually trailed by 1, 38-37.

With 17:46 to go in the 2nd half, Devin Williams' jumper put the Patriots up 44-42, and they did not give up the lead for the rest of the game. They led by as 13 at 10:36 when Cody Collins hit a 3-pointer to make it 63-50. With 1:20 to go, the Knights knocked the lead down to 5, 78-73, but the Patriots would make their free throws down the stretch. Again, your final, University of Valley Forge 82 – Kentucky Christian University 73.

Again, the Patriots had depth in their scoring as 9 different players contributed. Jerome Staley led the way with 16. Devin Williams had 14, and Thorne McIntosh had 13.

After going 5-19 in the regular season, and losing their last two games of the season, the Patriots have turned it around and now have a shot at making the National Tournament.
