Murray, Ulis Lead the Way as Kentucky Destroys Alabama

Kentucky opened up a sizable lead early and never looked back on the way to thrashing Alabama 78-53 Tuesday night at Rupp Arena.

Jamal Murray scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats (21-7, 11-4 SEC). Tyler Ulis totaled another double-double with 19 points and 10 assists. Alex Poythress returned from injury to score 14 points in only 17 minutes of action.

The Wildcats out-scored the Crimson Tide 40-22 in the paint and won the rebounding battle 41-29.

Alabama (16-11, 7-8) got 29 points from Retin Obasohan. Justin Coleman finished with 8 points.

Kentucky will travel to Nashville for a tough game at Vanderbilt on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The Wildcats are closing in on the SEC regular season championship with three games to go.
