Allen Edwards is the New Head Coach at Wyoming

Former Kentucky player Allen Edwards will take over as head coach at Wyoming after Larry Shyatt has stepped down.

Here are details from ESPN:

Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt has decided to resign.

Assistant coach Allen Edwards will replace Shyatt as head coach, according to sources.

Shyatt, 64, took over five years ago and took the Cowboys to the NCAA tournament in 2015. He has a 117-78 mark in his second stint with the program.

"This is not a decision that was made impulsively," Shyatt said in a statement. "Rather, it is a move that was arrived at after much soul-searching and discussion. I am ending my career here with the reluctant blessing of [athletic director] Tom Burman and the administration, and while they did their best to convince me to stay on, I believe that the timing of my decision is in the best interests of everyone involved."
