Kentucky Destroys Stony Brook to Set Up Showdown with Indiana

Kentucky started cold offensively but warmed up and quickly took care of Stony Brook 88-57 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Jamal Murray led a balanced Kentucky attack with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Isaiah Briscoe chipped in a double double with 13 points and 11 boards. Alex Poythress and Skal Labissiere added 12 points each.

Tyler Ulis finished with 10 points and 7 assists. It was a school record 28th straight game that Ulis had 4 or more assists.

The Wildcats (27-8) broke the NCAA Tournament record for most blocks in a game with 15. The previous record was 14, accomplished UK’s national championship 1998 team, vs. UCLA in the Sweet 16.

Stony Brook's season ends with a 26-7 record. 

Kentucky will now face rival Indiana in the round of 32 on Saturday at 5:15 p.m.
