WKU Announces That Three Suspended Players Are No Longer Enrolled in School

Western Kentucky University has announced that three suspended men's basketball players are no longer enrolled in school and have been released from their scholarships.

Here is an excerpt from the Bowling Green Daily News:

WKU athletic director Todd Stewart announced Tuesday that suspended men's basketball guards Fredrick Edmond, Marlon Hunter and Chris McNeal are no longer enrolled in the school.

"They have been released from their scholarship and are able to pursue other opportunities," Stewart said in a statement.

The guards were suspended from the basketball team March 17 following the outcome of a University Disciplinary Committee hearing on the evening of March 16.

No information concerning the disciplinary charges or outcome has been released by the university to this point because of federal privacy law. It's not known if the players were suspended or expelled from WKU, or if the decision to leave was their own.
