Anthony Elechi Will Begin Professional Career in British Basketball League

Former Morehead State big man Anthony Elechi will begin his professional basketball career in the United Kingdom.

Elechi has signed with Glasgow Rocks in the British Basketball League.

Here are details from Eurobasket.com:

With the 2016-17 BBL season fast approaching, Glasgow Rocks have further strengthened their roster with the arrival of Anthony Elechi (203-F/C, college: Morehead St.)

The 6ft 8in forward will further bolster a front court that already boasts GB international Kieron Achara and versatile big man, Lewis Thomas.

Elechi is a graduate of Morehead State University, where during his senior year with the Eagles he averaged 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He was very efficient from the field (53%) during his time there and was also very effective on the boards - especially at the offensive end.

His aggression and presence on the inside is tipped to complement the other two bigs that are already on the Rocks' roster and head coach Sterling Davis is excited by his most recent acquisition.

He commented, "Anthony is a natural born hard worker. He had a very solid college career on which his coaches had nothing but promising things to say about his production.

"He will bring us great energy at both ends of the floor, along with athleticism and strength. What drew me to him was how crafty he was around the basket and determination to rebound the ball.'
