Bracket Announced for 2017 Mid-South Conference Tournament

The bracket is set for the 2017 Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament.

Here are details from the league:

COLUMBIA, Ky. – At the completion of the 2016-17 Mid-South Conference men's basketball regular season, the conference released the bracket for the 2017 Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday night.

The conference tournament begins on Friday, March 3 from the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. The semifinals of the tournament are slated for Saturday and the championship is on Sunday.

Life (Ga.) headlines the bracket as the No. 1 seed following its first ever MSC regular season title going 12-2 in the conference.

The Running Eagles begin the tournament on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET against No. 8-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio).

Fourth-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) begins its postseason run against fifth-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) at 4 p.m. ET on Friday. The winner of the one and eight-seed game faces the winner of the fourth and fifth-seeded contest.

Second-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) kicks off the night cap on Friday against seventh-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) at 6 p.m. ET. The fourth quarterfinal matchup features third-seeded Pikeville (Ky.) and sixth-seeded Cumberland (Tenn.), which tips off at 8 p.m. ET.

The winners of quarterfinal three and quarterfinal four faceoff in the second semifinal on Saturday.

The tournament semifinals are scheduled for 6 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night with the championship game at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

A tiebreaker was administered for the second and third seed in the tournament.

Georgetown and Pikeville finished the conference regular season with identical 9-5 MSC records, but the Tigers grabbed the second seed after sweeping Pikeville during the conference regular season.

The 2017 Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament gets underway on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET from the Frankfort Convention Center.
