Brescia, Asbury Preparing for River States Conference Tournament

The River States Conference Tournament tips off Wednesday. Brescia and Asbury have qualified for the tournament.

Alice Lloyd and Midway will not be competing in the conference tournament.

Here are details:

FLORENCE, Ky. -- The 2016-17 River States Conference Men's Basketball Tournament bracket is set! The eight-team tournament gets underway Feb. 22, and the winner claims an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II National Championship March 8-14 in Point Lookout, Mo.

No. 24-ranked IU Southeast (22-5, 16-2 RSC) is the No. 1 overall seed in the RSC Tournament. The Grenadiers are already guaranteed a bid to the national tournament as the RSC regular-season champs. IU Southeast won the RSC West Division title and opens up the playoffs Feb. 22 versus University of Rio Grande (Ohio) (13-17, 8-9 RSC), the No. 4 seed out of the RSC East Division.

No. 12-ranked IU East (23-7, 14-3 RSC) is the RSC East Division champion and takes the other No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. The Red Wolves begin the tournament Feb. 22 versus No. 4 seed Brescia (Ky.) University (12-16, 9-9 RSC) from the RSC West.

No. 11-ranked WVU Tech (22-7, 14-2 RSC) is the No. 2 seed out of the RSC East, and the Golden Bears take on Asbury (Ky.) University (16-13, 9-9 RSC), the No. 3 seed from the RSC West, in the quarterfinal round Feb. 22. The winner will face the winner of the IU Southeast-Rio Grande matchup.

Cincinnati Christian University (13-17, 10-8 RSC) is the No. 2 seed from the RSC West, and the Eagles meet No. 3 seed Ohio Christian University (17-13, 11-6 RSC) from the RSC East in the quarterfinals Feb. 22. The winner moves on to face the winner of IU East versus Brescia.

All games of the RSC Tournament will be hosted by the higher seed. The semifinals are Feb. 25, and the finals are Feb. 28.

The RSC Game Central presented by Stretch Internet will provide live streaming video broadcasts of all RSC Men's Basketball Tournament games.
