Kentucky Christian Comes Up Short in NCCAA DII National Title Game

Kentucky Christian came up short in Sunday's NCCAA Division II national championship game.

The Knights were defeated 89-70 by No. 4 Randall University.

Here's a recap from KCU:

Ankeny, IA - The Knights season was a great journey that didn't end the way we had all hoped. After winning two highly contested games at the National Tournament, the Knights fell short in the Championship game to the #4 seed Randall University, 89-70.

The first half was very competitive with the Knights taking an eight point lead followed by a Saints rally leaving the score at the half 36-33 in favor of Randall.

As the game went on, the Knights slowly ran out of gas. They played hard, but the previous games had taken their toll.

Hayden Dunn gave a valiant effort scoring 19 points and bringing down nine rebounds for the Knights. Trenton Walker again left everything on the floor adding 11 points and six rebounds. Nick Miller and Conner Gauze were also in double figures with 10 and 12 points, respectively.

Like the Lady Knights, free throws and offensive rebounds plagued the Knights as they tried to battle back. Randall was led by Xavier Hunter with 22 points and Adam Morales with 21 points and six assists. Both players were named to the All Tournament Team. The Knights Hayden Dunn and Owens Crawford were also among the recipients.

The Knights fought hard and never gave up. They look to return to the National Tournament next season as all the players on their roster will be back. Congratulations to the Knights on a very memorable season!!
