COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball program has added Payton Cundiff for the upcoming 2017-18 season, head coach Paul Peck announced on Tuesday.

"Payton is the type of young man that makes everyone around him better," Peck said. "He is always giving everything he has and through hard work, he has made himself into a very good player."

Cundiff comes from Southwestern High School in Somerset, Kentucky. He joins fellow Southwestern classmate and teammate Payton Gover at Lindsey Wilson, who signed with the Blue Raiders last week.

During his senior season with the Warriors, Cundiff averaged 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game. The 6-foot-2 guard was named to the All-County, All-District and All-Region team as a senior, also picking up All-Region honors his junior season.

Off the court, Cundiff has received All-Region Academic Team accolades, earned the 2017 Pulaski County Work Ethic Seal and received the 2017 Society of Character Award while maintaining a 4.2 weighted grade point average.

"He will achieve a lot in college and in the future," Peck said. "He is a young man of great character and we love it that he chose to be a part of our program. He will make us better in all aspects."
