Eagles and Racers Hunting for OVC Title, NCAA Bid

The Morehead State Eagles and Murray State Racers are both in the hunt for the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship and accompanying NCAA Tournament automatic bid. The teams will be playing in tonight's semifinal games at the Sommet Center in Nashville.

Morehead State (17-15) will be squaring off against a very tough Tennessee-Martin team. UT-Martin (22-8) will be led by two-time OVC Player of the Year Lester Hudson. Hudson, who is second in the nation in scoring average (27.1 PPG), and teammate Marquis Weddle combined for 57 points in a 79-65 victory over the Eagles just one week ago. Morehead defeated the Skyhawks by nine points the first time they met earlier in the season.

The Murray State Racers (19-11) will battle a familiar foe and rival in the other semifinal as they match up against Austin Peay. The Governors (18-12) and Racers share one of the most intense rivalries in the OVC and tonight's game is expected to be fiercely competitive. This will be the twenty-third consecutive season that one of these two teams has reached the OVC Championship game. Austin Peay won both of the regular season games against the Racers, each by four points.

Both OVC semifinal games will be broadcast live on ESPNU at 7:00 and 9:00, respectively.
