Memphis Boosters and FedEx Trying to Keep Calipari?


We will find out soon if John Calipari's primary interest in changing scenary from Memphis to Lexington is money. According to ESPN, Kentucky has apparently offered Calipari something in the neighborhood $35 million for eight years. An article came out this morning which indicates that Memphis boosters, including the powerful FedEx Corporation, are scrambling to put together a package that could pay Calipari up to $7 million a year. If this is true, it will be very difficult for Kentucky to compete with those kinds of numbers.

I guess we'll find out soon enough which forces are driving Coach Calipari to Lexington.
