Mid-South Conference Tournament Begins Tonight

The Mid-South Conference Tournament opens play tonight at the Frankfort Civic Center and features five Kentucky teams. Georgetown (26-3), Cumberlands (24-6) and Lindsey Wilson (22-7) should be locks to make the 32-team NAIA Division I tournament, but several other teams are fighting for at-large bids and their postseason lives in the Mid-South tourney. Pikeville (19-11) will most likely need to pickup an additional win or two to receive and at-large bid. Likewise for West Virginia Tech (20-10). That will make tonight's game between the two bubble teams a very critical matchup. In the other game tonight, Lindsey Wilson will compete against Campbellsville (10-18). The winners tonight will advance to play Georgetown and Cumberlands, both of whom have a first-round bye.
