Former Kentucky recruit G.J. Vilarino is going to play his college basketball at Gonzaga. Vilarino committed to Kentucky originally, but obtained a release after John Calipari took the Wildcats over. Vilarino is a 6-foot, 168-pound point guard from McKinney (Texas) High.
He chose Gonzaga over Baylor and Virginia Commonwealth.
“It’s a great fit,” Gerry Vilarino (G.J.'s dad) told the Louisville Courier-Journal. “He was born in Spokane. A fairy tale ending.”
