Meeks, Calipari Receive NABC State Farm Honors

Kentucky's Jodie Meeks and head coach John Calipari were both honored over the weekend at the NCAA Tournament's Final Four in Detroit, Michigan.

Meeks added to his impressive collection of honors by being named to the NABC State Farm Coaches' All-America team. Meeks finished the season as the SEC's leading scorer at 23.7 points a game. He set school records for points in a game with 54 at Tennessee and three-pointers in a season with 108. Meeks has all received All-America honors from the Associated Press (2nd Team), USBWA (2nd Team), The Sporting News (2nd Team) and FoxSports.com (4th Team).

Kentucky coach John Calipari won the Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year award for his work at Memphis this season. He led the Tigers to a 33-4 record and an appearance in the Sweet 16 before taking the Kentucky job.

Kentucky native Darrin Horn, the head coach at South Carolina, was also a finalist for the Jim Phelan award.
