Bud Mackey in Trouble Again

I enjoy reporting the brighter side of Kentucky basketball, but occasionally it is with sadness that I must report on a negative story. Bud Mackey, the once promising high school prospect from Scott County, has found himself in trouble again.

A former central Kentucky high school basketball star is once again in trouble with the law.

Police arrested Bud Mackey on Wednesday night in Lexington, this time for possession of a handgun by a felon and receiving stolen property.

A judge sentenced Mackey to sixty days in jail back in October for bringing cocaine onto Scott County High School's campus.

The judge gave him a reduced sentence at time time so it wouldn't interfere with Mackey's plans to start college this past January.
