The Kentucky Wildcats added a five-star point guard to their recruiting class today when they added Eric Bledsoe. Many fans are wondering what impact, if any, Bledsoe will have on John Wall's future. There are generally three schools of thought making the rounds on the Internet:
1) John Calipari has somehow convinced both John Wall and Eric Bledsoe that two point guards can coexist in his dribble-drive motion offense. Bledsoe stated in his press conference that he was told that he will be starting at point guard next season and seeing significant minutes. The Memphis fans, who are a very bitter bunch at the moment, continue to state that Calipari has duped Bledsoe into signing with Kentucky under false promises. I tend to believe that Calipari has told Bledsoe the truth.
John Wall is considered the top point guard in the class and he will be expecting a starting role on the team that he chooses. If you fall under this school of thought, you are expecting Wall to join the Wildcats and looking for a starting lineup that includes both players next season. Those that believe this way feel that there is a very strong chance that Wall will round out one of the greatest recruiting classes in the history of college basketball.
2) Calipari has finally grown tired of the John Wall recruiting saga and decided that he can wait no longer to sign a five-star point guard - the missing piece to an otherwise talented team. If you fall into this category, you likely feel that Calipari gave 110% in trying to land Wall, but finally ran out of patience as Wall still remains undecided. Feeling that he could wait no longer, Calipari sold Bledsoe on coming to Lexington and offered him a scholarship. If you think this, you probably consider the chances of landing Wall about 50/50 at this point.
3) Calipari and the Kentucky staff have been informed that John Wall is heading elsewhere and they focused all efforts on Bledsoe. ESPN analyst Doug Gottlieb falls into this category. He states that signing another top-10 point guard is a sure indication that Kentucky will not (under any circumstance) get John Wall. If you fall under this category, you think that Kentucky has slim to no chance at landing Wall and the recruiting class is complete.
What do I believe?
I have confirmed through several good sources that Wall will trim his list to three schools soon and that Kentucky will make the final cut. The final three will likely be Kentucky, Duke and Miami, in my opinion.
I still believe that John Wall will be a Kentucky Wildcat, but I am not as confident as I was earlier in the week. I've officially lowered my percentage of John Wall coming to Kentucky to 98%.

Good luck with all your new recurits and new players.Do you ever wonder where all the other players went from last year you know the ones that thought they were going to Kentucky?
GJ Vilarino went to Gonzaga. Not bad. All the other kids (Euton, Ross-Miller, and Avery) were verbals who have just as many options as any other unsigned 2010 recruit. Avery won't play a game until 2012 for crying out loud.
No, I don't wonder where they went.
At this point my belief is that the fans in KY think Wall thinks he is bigger than UK. Not so and he can go where he will be bigger than the school not UK. Also these are not Calipari's Cats they are UK's cats!
You are right and I think Cal knows how special it is too be a Wildcat. UK is blessing him!
Dear Memphis fans,
Please quit wondering in and out of the wildcat fan sites with your negative comments, get over it already. Cal is now a wildcat and you have a very good up and coming coach, back him and let Cal go. But if you can't get over it please do the following:
1. get a shovel, a towel and a picture of last years Memphis team.
2. Find an open field.
3. dig a hole.
4. climb in, placing the towel over your face so the tears won't run, and the picture clucthed in your hand.
' 5. now have someone pile dirt over you so you won't keep whining on all the wildcat sites.
very nice on the memphis fans. that about sums it all up.
i also feel that wall will not be coming to uk. i think he will end up at duke unless they do not persue him after the charges they have aginst him. that may be why he is leaving uk on his short list. would be nice to have both of them at uk, but who is coach cal going to get rid of and who will be on the roster for the cats next year? does anyone have any news on who is going to get cut?
LOL.... At this point i see no one knows what to believe. One thing we all have to keep in mind is that were talking about a 'teenage kid' who has the college bball nation holding its breathe for his decison. Does Wall really wanna be a history making class at Kentucky...or does he wanna market himself, be a campus sensation for a year and go on. Put yourself in John Walls shoes.... UNC got into recruiting late and Wall is a Carolina kid (#1 at that!) Roy Williams can get talent and could keep Wall closer to home....but i feel the late surge from Willams leaves a bitter taste in Walls mouth. I think he'd sooner move the other direction on Tabbaco Rd. and join Coach K (Which leads me to another thing....) Im sure you've all heard about the infamous Coach K/John Wall vist that was set last month and fell thru because of a book singing obligation that came up for Coach K. Wow? Marketing yourself over the #1 recruit. Though im sure Coach K has some kind of Jedi mind trick working soo that he can spin the whole situation. Not to add maybe Walls on doing has eliminated him from Duke and possibly even UNC because of the standards of the schools/coaches. Neither are real risk takers when it comes to talent...Kentucky on the other hand may have all of the above Wall wants. A coach who relates to players and has a pro style offense. Talent already in place to make a serious run. Even with Bledsoe signing....Wall will start and have the front court to shoot his super star status to the #1 pick in the NBA. Its really simple to me....it just does Wall wanna go small(Miami...Memphis)and market himself...or do it big(Kentucky...Duke)and make a team great.
I think it is a great thing that the Kentucky fans are tired of the negative Memphis comments and do agree with you and I am tured of the samething on the Memphis web sites from the Kentucky fans on our web sites so I don't care about Coach Cal or Kentucky either one.I wish the blue nation the best luck with Coach Cal he was a great coach here in Memphis and he will be a great coach in Kentucky but you must be ready for a lot of changes and that you will find out on your own because you wouldn't belive me now but I'am not talking bad about Cal because I think he is a great coach and recuriter and he will do great things there.GO TIGERS GO and good luck.
