Kentucky Wildcats Give Corey Allmond an Assist

The sizzling shooting performance that Corey Allmond displayed last week in Rupp Arena has helped land Southland Conference Player of the Week honors. His 11 three-point baskets were the most made in a UK game, the most made at Rupp Arena and the most made by a Southland Conference player.

Excerpt of article from KBTX.com:

Sam Houston State senior guard Corey Allmond has been named the Southland men's basketball player of the week the league office announced Monday.

Allmond, a native of Oxon Hill, Maryland, set the Adolph Rupp Arena, Southland Conference and Sam Houston State record with 11 three-point baskets made in 102-92 loss at No. 4 Kentucky Thursday.

His 37 points scored against the Wildcats ranks as the second-highest single-game scoring total by a Bearkat against an NCAA Division I opponent.

Allmond snapped the old Southland three-point field goal record of 10 held by Earnest Porter of Nicholls and Daryl Cohen of Southeastern Louisiana.
