Maurice Harkless Commits to Connecticut

As expected (and reported by the guys at RecruitingChronicles.com earlier in the week), 2011 forward Maurice Harkless has committed to the Connecticut Huskies.

His final list contained UConn, Seton Hall, Kentucky, St. Johns and Fordham.

I heard someone pretty close to the situation state that Harkless did not have an offer from Kentucky.

Harkless does plan to attend the Connecticut/Kentucky game at Madison Square Garden tonight.

Article from ZagsBlog.com about the commitment

Hard to commit to schools that don't offer you a scholarship.

So you follow his every move since Dec 2nd and then when he doesn't sign, you hear from "someone pretty close to the situation" that he did not (in fact?) have an offer. Oh, ok. I supposed uk didn't make offers to the previous 7 recruits that decided to sign or commit elsewhere this fall. Wasn't it Coach Robic that once declared that if Uk offered 20 schollys that there would be 21 players in line? I'll admit, however, that there are a few great high school players remaining but the list is slowly dwindling. No angst yet? Congrats on beating UConn, one hell of a game.
