Cousins Loses Teeth, Gains SEC Freshman Honors

Kentucky's DeMarcus Cousins lost the crowns on two of his front teeth in Saturday's game against Arkansas, but still managed to put in 16 points and 14 rebounds.

His efforts have earned him SEC Freshman of the Week honors. This is the tenth time this season that a UK player has won conference honors, a new SEC record.

Kentucky’s DeMarcus Cousins was named SEC Freshman of the Week after he had 16 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Arkansas. Playing just 17 minutes against the Razorbacks, he registered his 10th double-double of the season which is one shy of the UK freshman record of 11 set by Chris Mills. Cousins converted 7-of-10 field goal attempts and both of his free throw attempts and added two steals and a block and an assist to his stat line.
