Parrish Slides Another Cheap Shot in on Calipari and UK

In what is becoming more of a habit than a surprise, Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com has managed to take another cheap shot at the Kentucky Wildcats and John Calipari.

Today, he slides Calipari into an article about the Connecticut Huskies and head coach Jim Calhoun.

UConn is in the midst of an NCAA investigation involving at least eight alleged rules violations.

What does that mean?

Apparently it means that John Calipari needs to be worked into the story as a measure of comparison for Calhoun?

Here is an excerpt:

What Calhoun has done is survive an NCAA investigation even though violations have been uncovered and two assistants have lost their jobs. That, my friends, is the stuff of Hall of Famers, an impressive accomplishment, not unlike John Calipari's ability to never directly be tied to anything despite having had two Final Fours at two different schools vacated. Calhoun and Calipari may hate each other (and they do), but one thing they have in common is that they both understand "how to play the game" and flourish in a sport that gets sketchier by the year.

This clown also said UK was Cal's backup plan next year. He knows nothing and has proven him self to be a complete Jackass lately. His blog hits are down so he writes this stuff to get angry UK Fans to click on his articles. Don't do it Cat Fans. He will lose his job sooner or later and then we can all silently Laugh our tales off. Wanna be journalist(Like Parrish) always prove themselves to be just that...Wanna be's.

That is exactly what you called it... a cheap shot. that is a weak attempt at journalism. the two infractions he is comparing are very different from eachothers. someone at rose's highschool changed his grade during his senior season. not really the future university coaches doing... camby hired an agent, im willing to bet the coach would have been rather against that move knowing what that would risk.

Two things: 1. "the two infractions he is comparing are very different from eachothers". I agree... Cal's violations are much worse. 2. A grade change wasn't the MAIN focus of the investigation you moron. After several failed ACT/SAT attempts to qualify for college, WWW and Cal concocted a scheme to have Rose pass his final SAT attempt in Detroit (WWW's home town, wink, wink) even though Rose lived in Chicago. If Cal isn't guilty regarding the Rose situation, then why did he keep the NCAA letter of inquiry and investigation from the public and the media close to a year and after he accepted the Kentucky job. Why not just laugh it off and dismiss it? Cal knew exactly what was going on! Cal is a decent human being however and continues to do wonderful things with children and the poor in Lexington and Memphis. I hope and pray that his mother will be ok. But Kentucky fans, he's such a competitor that he operates in a very gray area as far as recruiting is involved. Have to admit, your coach IS the Houdini of college basketball...the only exception, of course, is having a legitimate Final Four record. It remains to be seen if he can perform similar magic regarding the eligibility of Enis Kanter.
