In addition, Behanan has been banned from speaking to the media during the first semester of this season.
Pitino said Sunday that Behanan was involved in some unspecified ''incidents'' this summer and was warned that another would lead to him missing games.
I spoke to a source close the situation tonight who confirmed that Pitino is true to his word.
"Pitino is telling the media accurate information," the source explained. "Chane broke curfew a couple of times this summer. There may have been some Twitter and Facebook things, too."
There has been all kinds of speculation about Behanan's situation on social media sites such as Twitter today. According to the source, most of the rumors are far-fetched.
"It is crazy some of the crap that is out there," the source stated. "His grades are really good. He is eligible and ready to go."
The source added, "Pitino knows that Chane is potentially a top 15 pick in the draft after this year and is making an attempt to help him grow up. He's making him accountable for his actions."
Behanan's suspension for the exhibition game should be nothing for Louisville fans to worry about heading into the regular season. It appears Pitino is simply sending his sophomore big man a message.
