New Event Will Bring Top Recruits to Lexington in November

A new event will be bringing several of the nation's top high school basketball players to Lexington in November.

According to Ben Roberts of the Herald-Leader, the Bluegrass Showcase will feature some elite-level talent at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School on November 28-29.

Here is an excerpt:

The high school teams featuring Josh Jackson and Thon Maker – two of the top five players in the junior class – will play two games each, including one contest against each other on the final night of the two-day showcase set for Nov. 28-29 at Paul Laurence Dunbar.

Jackson – a 6-foot-7 small forward – recently transferred to Prolific Prep in Northern California after playing his first two seasons of high school in Michigan, which has strict rules about its teams competing in games outside of the state.

Prolific Prep is entering its first season with a schedule that includes games at the Hoophall Classic in Massachusetts, the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas and several other national showcases.
