Western Kentucky Begins Practice for 2014-15 Season

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have started practices for the 2014-15 season.

Western Kentucky is gearing up for the team's first season as a member of Conference USA.

Here is a release from WKU:

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The 2014-15 WKU Hilltopper Basketball team took to the floor Monday afternoon for the first preseason practice, going through two-and-a-half hours of workouts at E.A. Diddle Arena in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

The 2014-15 season will be WKU’s first as a member of Conference USA after 32 years in the Sun Belt Conference, where the program won nearly 61 percent of its games and nine regular-season and nine conference tournament titles.

In 2014-15, WKU returns its four leading scorers and over 70 percent of its scoring and over 50 percent of its rebounding from last year’s squad that finished the season with a 20-12 record and a 12-6 mark in conference play.

WKU has secured a 20-win season in back-to-back years and eight of the last 10 campaigns overall.
