Vandals Strike Boyle County High School; Rivalry Week in the 12th Region

Boyle County High School fell victim to apparent vandalism over the weekend.

The pole that holds the traditional bell that rings when the Rebels' football team enters the field was cut down. The bell was destroyed as a result of the fall.

This is a big week for Boyle County on the basketball court as they will battle two of their biggest rivals in the 12th Region.

On Tuesday, the Rebels travel to Mercer County for the showdown with Josh Cook's Titans.

Friday night, Lincoln County heads to Danville for what will surely be one of the most intense regular season games in the region.

While there have been accusations made on Twitter and other social media, it is not known if the vandalism was intended as "a message" from rival fans.

Can Southwestern Conquer the Road?

Coach Steve Wright and his Southwestern Warriors have their hands full the next two weeks. Southwestern, which just won road games at Russell County and McCreary Central, must travel to West Jessamine and McCreary Central this week. The Warriors then head to Lincoln County and Casey County next week.

Wayne County Will Get a 13th Region Road Test

Rodney Woods' team get the luxury of hosting Southwestern Friday night but that game is sandwiched between two difficult road games in the 13th Region.

The Cardinals head to Knox Central (12-8) tomorrow night and then travel to Clay County (17-4) next Tuesday.

My Thoughts on Rivalry Games, Vandalism, etc

I think it's important for some to realize that rivalry games are awesome...vandalism is not. Always keep it fun and classy. There is never a reason to cause expensive damage at another school.

There are ways to be funny and get the point across without causing property damage.
I will be at...

- Mercer County tomorrow night

- Boyle County Friday night

I hope the student sections bring their A+++ games this week. Let's have some fun!
