Mid-South Conference Awards and Honors Announced; Kenny Manigault Named Player of the Year

University of Pikeville's Kenny Manigault was named Mid-South Conference Player of the Year last week.

Lindsey Wilson's Bryan Wallace was named Freshman of the Year.

Campbellsville head man Keith Adkins was named Coach of the Year.

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Pikeville (Ky.) senior guard Kenny Manigault is the 2014-15 Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year, conference officials announced on Thursday at the conference's awards banquet at the Capital Plaza Hotel.

The announcement comes during the 2015 Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Championships presented by Pioneer College Caterers at the Frankfort Convention Center in downtown Frankfort.

Manigault leads the 10-man all-conference first team as selected by the conference coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players. Ten additional players were selected to the All Mid-South Second Team.

Manigault ranks in the top five in several different statistical categories, including first in steals (68) and steals per game (2.4) and second in scoring at 19.8 points per game. He is third in assists per game (3.3) and double-doubles (9) and fourth in rebounds per game (7.5).

The two-time MSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week is second in the NAIA in steals, third in steals per game and 15th nationally in scoring.

Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Bryan Wallace is the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year as voted on by the conference coaches. Wallace is averaging 9.8 points per game and ranks second in the Mid-South averaging 1.7 steals per game.

Campbellsville's (Ky.) Keith Adkins is the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Coach of the Year award. The honor is voted on by their peers.

Adkins led the Tigers to a share of the regular season MSC title. The coach of the year award is his second. Adkins also received the honor during the 2005-06 season.

Campbellsville's Darius Clement and Shawnee State's Austin Vance are the MSC Champions of Character Award recipients as voted on by the conference's athletic directors.
