Daniel Orton is Headed to Greece for 2015-16

Former University of Kentucky center Daniel Orton has signed with AEK Athens in Greece's top-level A1 league for 2015-16.

AEK Athens will also compete in Group F of the prestigious Eurocup competition.

AEK Athens (A1) added to their roster 25-year old American forward Daniel Orton (208-116kg-90, college: Kentucky, agency: Agency). He played last season at Grand Rapids Drive (D-League) in the U.S.. In 6 games he recorded 6.7ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.0bpg. The last summer Orton played at Purefoods (PBA) in Filipino league. In three games he averaged 15.0ppg, 12.7rpg, 1.7apg and 3.3bpg. The last (2015) season he played at Sichuan Blue Whales (CBA) in Chinese league. In 15 games he averaged 14.3ppg, 9.5rpg, 2.4apg, 1.1spg and 1.6bpg. Orton also spent pre-season at Shanxi Zhongyu (CBA) in Chinese league that year. He was called during the season by the Washington Wizards.

The previous (13-14) season Orton played at Maine Red Claws in D-League. In 24 games he averaged 11.3ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.8apg and 2.1bpg in 2013-14 season.

In 2010 he was drafted by Orkando Magic (NBA) in first round (29th overall). The former University of Kentucky standoutis in his sixth season in pro basketball.

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won NBA Northwest Division championship title in 2013. Orton was also voted USBasket.com All-D-League Honorable Mention in 2013.
