Eloy Vargas is Headed to Greece for 2015-16

Former Kentucky center Eloy Vargas will continue his professional career in Greece.

Vargas has signed with Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas in Greece's top-level A1 league for 2015-16.

Last season, Vargas played in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the NBA D-League.

In 30 games for the Los Angeles D-Fenders, Vargas averaged 8.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.

Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas (A1) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-113kg-88, college: Kentucky, agency: You First). Vargas managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). He played in the summer at Metros de Santiago in LNB league in Dominican Republic. In 26 games he recorded 9.8ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.3bpg. Great season indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Rep. LNB Honorable Mention. He also played at Vaqueros (BSN) in Puerto Rican league that season. In 21 games he averaged 7.9ppg and 6.3rpg. The last season Vargas played at D-Fenders in D-League. In 30 games he averaged 8.7ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.6bpg.

The previous (13-14) season he played at Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (Liga Endesa) in Spanish league. In 27 games he averaged 5.5ppg and 4.0rpg in 2013-14 season. Part of previous (2013) summer Vargas spent at San Lazaro (District National) in Dominican Rep. league. The other team he played shortly was Cupes (Santiago League) in Dominican Republic.

Last year (two years after he left the college) Vargas was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in first round (17th overall).
