Lindsey Wilson Signs Bryce Williams for 2017-18

Lindsey Wilson College has signed 6-foot-5 wing Bryce Williams from Blackman (Tenn.) High School for the 2017-18 season.

Here's a release from LWC:

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball program has signed high school standout Bryce Williams to the 2017-18 roster, head coach Paul Peck announced on Thursday.

"Bryce comes from one of the top high school programs in the state of Tennessee," Peck said. "His high school coach in Barry Wortman is also one of the best in the state."

Williams joins Lindsey Wilson from Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where he was the No. 19-ranked athlete in the state according to Tennessee Prep Hoops.

The 6-foot-5 wing player helped lead Blackman to a 26-5 overall record and a perfect 12-0 mark in district play in 2017, along with appearances in the Tennessee Class AAA Region Championship Game and the Class AAA Sectionals. For his efforts, Williams was named a 2017 All-Conference and All-District selection, as well as earning the most valuable player award.

The four-year varsity member averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds per game at Blackman, while also adding five steals, six assists and two blocks per game. As a freshman, he was a member of the Blackman team that took home the 2014 Tennessee Secondary School Athlete Association Boys' Basketball State title.

Williams has had successful stints with AAU ball as well, competing with the Nashville Celtics from 2014-16 where he stuffed the stat sheet averaging 15 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, eight assists and four blocks per game.

"Bryce is a tremendous athlete and very versatile," Peck said. "He will be called on to challenge Charles Sutton in the wing position."
